Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is the independent regulator of worker safety and health in Queensland's mining, quarrying, petroleum, gas, and explosives industries.
The Health Surveillance Unit within RSHQ is seeking an experienced Project Officer with a background in data analytics to join our Surveillance & Reporting team.
This team delivers sector wide surveillance information, used to inform industry about insights and emerging health trends.
This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis.

Are you a delivery orientated Project Officer, with a passion for interrogating data, data management and presenting the findings to a high standard? If so the role of Project Officer in our Surveillance & Reporting team could be for you. You will work within a team that delivers reports with a focus on informing stakeholders and driving regulatory activity with the aim of improving worker health outcomes.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability within an evolving technology and business environment.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Power BI or similar business analytics programs is essential.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of legislation relevant to the Coal Mine Workers' Scheme.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
Essential / desirable requirements
- Previous experience or qualifications in data transformation and statistics using MS Excel and statistical software is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in SharePoint is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in Dynamics 365 or similar CRM platform is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience or qualifications involving use of medical terminology, superior client service, medical records management, and reporting and/or database administration.
