We embrace diversity, flexibility, learning and continuous improvement to deliver quality legal services. The work is challenging but rewarding - and that is why staff wellbeing and work/life balance are a top priority for us.

About the role

As the AO5 Senior Revenue Officer, you will play a pivotal role in managing Legal Aid Queensland's financial resources by contributing to debt management policies, asset reconciliation, and compliance reporting.

You will provide complex advice to internal file managers regarding debt recovery strategies, negotiate payment and instalment plans with clients experiencing financial or social challenges, and ensure compliance with debt collection policies.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating files for outstanding debts, conducting monthly reconciliations, and preparing recommendations for debt write-offs or amendments.

Additionally, you will maintain and update the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) register as it pertains to Legal Aid Queensland, all while delivering high standards of governance and financial practice.

About you

We're seeking a candidate who:

  • Brings high-level analytical skills and experience in debt recovery processes.
  • Excels at managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Is skilled in using IT systems such as Microsoft Office and other organisational tools.
  • Communicates effectively and empathetically with diverse stakeholders, including clients with complex needs.
  • Thrives in an environment where resilience, flexibility, and embracing change are essential.

While there are no mandatory qualifications, a financial qualification will be highly regarded.
