About the role
This is a non-traditional security position focused on proactive engagement with patients, visitors, and staff. You will use empathy, respect, and strong communication skills to help prevent and de-escalate challenging situations, enhancing the overall patient experience while supporting clinical teams.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Functions in accordance with legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act 2016, Aged Care Act 1997 and Disability Act 2014) when undertaking activities as delegated to provide accountable care that is safe and relevant for individuals and groups.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above.
- Participates in the development of quality improvement activities and the application of research and evidence-based practice, in collaboration with clinicians and other stakeholders.
- Continually monitors and actively patrols the clinical areas and waiting areas and pro‐actively engages patients, visitors and staff to develop a positive safety culture and creates opportunities to enhance the user experience by making connections with those in the area and, where possible, alleviating some of the stresses and anxiety through respectful interpersonal interactions.
