The primary purpose of clinical governance is to protect the public and staff from harm by reviewing serious clinical incidents and developing recommendations to continuously improve the quality of health service delivery. This leads to better patient outcomes, supports staff wellbeing, and ensures a safe environment for all who access or visit the health service. All staff share responsibility for regularly reviewing individual and team practices to meet evolving internal and external expectations and stakeholder needs.
About your role:
- Review Severity Assessment Code 1 (SAC1) clinical incidents to determine what went wrong, why it happened and what recommendations can be put in place to prevent the incident happening again.
- Collaborate with other Patient Safety and Quality Unit team members to develop, implement, and monitor safety and quality systems, including action plans for improvement.
- National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and Aged Care Quality Standards Update.
