About the role:
The Rheumatic Heart Disease Register (RHDR) Data Manager supports the RHDR data team in managing data and developing reports to meet stakeholder reporting needs and support clinicians in the provision of clinical care.
The RHDR data team is part of the Statewide Rheumatic Heart Disease program. The program works co-operatively across teams in Branches, Hospital and Health Services, and with external providers to ensure optimal clinical care is provided.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Support the management of complex data sets related to the clinical and public health follow up of Rheumatic Heart Disease and Acute Rheumatic Fever, under the supervision of the Senior Data Manager (RHD).
- Develop reports based on data in the RHDR, Notifiable Conditions register and related data sets using modern reporting tools, such as Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Databricks, R and Python.
- Support testing and quality assurance processes such as requirements gathering, specifications and test plans to enable the development of reports and application changes to the RHDR.
- Manage sensitive, high-level information and knowledge in line with departmental and government policy, particularly the confidentiality and privacy of health (related) information.
Role fit:
You bring proven capability in working with complex healthcare data environments, including hands‑on experience querying and managing large‑scale relational datasets using moderate to advanced SQL. Your background includes practical use of modern analytics and reporting platforms such as Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services, Databricks, R, and Python, enabling you to translate raw data into meaningful insights. You have a strong foundation in data quality, encompassing data entry, documentation, QA processes, and testing across high‑volume datasets. Just as importantly, you demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams, engaging confidently with external clinicians and clinic staff to support accurate, timely, and reliable data outcomes.
