Park Ridge State School promotes a “Harmony School” approach, where the whole school community works together to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment. Through programs such as the You Can Do It program, the school helps students build social, emotional, and self-regulation skills while encouraging positive and meaningful school experiences.
The Engagement Teacher plays a key role within a multidisciplinary team, supporting student wellbeing, engagement, and learning. They work closely with school leaders, teachers, support staff, and families to help students access learning, develop regulation skills, and achieve success at school. The role also involves planning and delivering targeted interventions, supporting teachers with engagement strategies, and contributing to collaborative student support processes.
Key responsibilities include
- Working collaboratively with teachers, leaders and support staff to support student engagement, achievement and wellbeing
- Planning, preparing and delivering targeted learning and intervention programs for identified students
- Supporting teachers and teacher aides to implement agreed strategies, adjustments and behaviour support approaches
- Contributing to Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention responses for identified students
- Assisting with student support planning and contributing to relevant documentation
- Developing visual supports in collaboration with teachers
- Supporting the implementation of Personalised Learning Plans and student support plans
- Assisting students to set, monitor and reflect on individual goals in partnership with teachers
- Participating in transition processes to support successful student transitions
- Supporting communication and collaboration with families, school staff and external agencies as appropriate
- Maintaining relevant records and contributing to monitoring of student progress and intervention responses
