Sporting Chance Clinical Nurse

The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of patients with complex oncology care needs, ensuring quality standards are met. This role works autonomously within the Oncology Services Group structure and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of enhanced outpatient services for those children and families who have a child undergoing oncology treatment. The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research. The role supports in management activities including portfolio responsibilities.

About the Team
The Oncology Services Group includes the Oncology Service, Blood and Marrow Transplant Service, Haematology Service and the Paediatric Palliative Care Service. The Oncology Service has dedicated consultant teams focusing on Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Bone Marrow Transplant; Solid Tumours and Neuro-oncology; Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and non-malignant Haematology. Consultant medical staff are supported by junior and middle-grade medical staff, including specialist training fellows in paediatric oncology. We provide a centralised, state-wide service for Queensland and Northern New South Wales, with an overall population of more than 5 million people. The Oncology Service has one of the most active clinical research centres in Australia, supported by a dedicated Clinical Research Office.
About the Role
In this role you will coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.
You'll fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 6 Band 1 and the Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
