About You:

We are looking for a Senior Policy Officer who has the following attributes:

  • Critical and strategic thinker, who can research and analyse issues, translate complex information into clear and user-friendly products, and make informed recommendations to management
  • Excellent people skills and a commitment to customer service
  • Exceptional writers and communicators who are great at stakeholder engagement and negotiation
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, coordination and project management skills
  • Data and analytical experience to identify trends and insights and support corporate reporting
  • Self-starters who can work independently, but also collaboratively as part of a team
  • A drive to continuously improve and innovate to deliver better outcomes and meet strategic objectives
  • Capability development skills to support the department to mature its approaches

About the Role:

Your role will involve working at an enterprise level to help mature the Department of Education's approach to customer complaints management, human rights, and good decision-making to support schools, regions and divisions.

We are looking for a critical thinker with a passion for developing better practice approaches to complaints management and human rights, building capability, leading analysis and reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

Maturing departmental approaches to human rights and customer complaints management will include:

  • Support development of good practice complaints management and human rights approaches
  • Support development of tailored complaints and human rights resources and training to build capability in frontline and corporate areas
  • Improve data quality and reporting
  • Collaborate with other business areas to drive continuous improvement in complaints management and human rights
