As an Educational Team Leader in Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) / Skills for Education and Employment (SEE), you will support teaching teams by providing leadership and supervision to support efficient and high-quality delivery to students, promote job satisfaction and improved quality of working life for teaching teams.
The Role
We have an exciting temporary full-time Educational Team Leader position available to lead our Educational Delivery team in AMEP/SEE at TAFE Queensland’s Ipswich or Toowoomba Campus, until 30 June 2027 unless otherwise determined.
This position reports to the Faculty Director.
Salary
The salary range for a TAFE Educational Team Leader is $116,193 - $124,323 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- an undergraduate degree of at least three years’ duration awarded by an Australian university or tertiary institution, or its onshore or overseas equivalent;
- a recognised specialist post graduate TESOL qualification (with supervised teaching practicum of 60 hours with a minimum of 25 hours supervised teaching);
- at least 100 hours teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or Adult Literacy/Numeracy in the last three years;
- current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
- current Queensland Driver’s Licence;
- current Blue Card or Exemption Card (or ability to obtain prior to commencement), to comply with the Working with Children Check Act 2000.
Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor; or
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
- TAE50111 or TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
- TAE50211 or TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
- A secondary teaching qualification and one (1) of the following credentials:
- TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor; or
- TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor; or
- A higher-level qualification in adult or vocational education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
Highly Desirable
Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:
- Five (5) or more years of teaching experience within TAFE Queensland, Vocational Education; and
- Degree qualification in Vocational Education and Training; and
- Higher level qualifications in Leadership and/or TESOL
