Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse within Emergency, you'll play a key role in delivering advanced, person-centred care to patients with complex needs in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Working autonomously and collaboratively, you'll provide expert clinical leadership, coordinate care delivery and support a culture of excellence across patient care, education and quality improvement initiatives.
You'll make an impact by:
- Delivering advanced Emergency nursing care and clinical decision-making
- Leading and coordinating care in complex and rapidly changing situations
- Supporting and mentoring nursing staff, students and multidisciplinary teams
- Acting as a clinical leader and role model for evidence-based practice
- Coordinating shift activities and supporting staffing and team operations
About you:
You are a confident and experienced Emergency nursing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can balance clinical expertise with strong leadership capability. You enjoy mentoring others, thinking critically and delivering high-quality care while supporting positive team outcomes.
You will bring:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA/NMBA
- Minimum 3 years' Emergency nursing experience with advanced clinical capability
- Advanced assessment, critical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills
- Strong experience managing complex patient presentations and changing priorities
- Demonstrated leadership and team coordination experience
- Ability to delegate, guide and support multidisciplinary team members

About us:
The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a Level 6 major referral centre, offering tertiary referral service to Brisbane South and surrounding areas. All adult specialities are provided with the exception of obstetrics, gynaecological and burns services. The PAH Emergency Department (ED) is one of the largest adult teaching hospital Emergency Departments in Australia. The Emergency Department attends to over 70,000 patients each year and admits approximately 33% patients into the hospital for specialist care. Within the Emergency Department (ED) is a designated ED Mental Health assessment area and a Toxicology Unit.
