Your new role:
As the Clinical Nurse within Ward 6B Acute Cognitive Unit, you will provide advanced clinical leadership and deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients with acute cognitive and complex geriatric conditions by:
- Delivering advanced assessment, care planning and clinical management for patients with dementia, delirium, frailty and other complex medical conditions
- Coordinating and leading nursing care within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Providing clinical leadership, mentoring and support to nursing staff and students
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits and evidence-based practice activities
- Contributing to safe, effective and compassionate patient care through strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Assisting with shift coordination, team support and maintaining a positive workplace culture
- Promoting patient safety and quality standards aligned with NSQHS Standards and Metro South Health values
About you:
You will be a compassionate and experienced nursing professional who thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment with:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Demonstrated experience in acute medical, geriatric or cognitive care nursing
- Advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking and care coordination skills
- A strong commitment to person-centred care and improving patient outcomes
- Excellent communication, leadership and team engagement capabilities
- Experience supporting and mentoring nursing staff and students
- Knowledge of quality improvement processes, clinical governance and safe practice standards
- A genuine passion for working with older persons and patients experiencing cognitive impairment, dementia or delirium
