This role leads an effective team delivering a broad range of functions, including the development, implementation and refinement of policy to guide Queensland Health's operations in accordance with its directions, vision and intent . It has oversight of a key statewide program, the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme, which is administered by each Hospital and Health Service.

Key responsibilities:
- Regularly monitor and assess performance of direct reports and manage employees in line with positive management foundations and practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of change management principles, practices and/or strategies to identify opportunities for improvement in business operations, processes, and resources.
- Manage client expectations and interactions through the development and management of associated communication strategies and plans. This involves overseeing and coordinating interactions with our current and potential clients and stakeholders.
- Lead contract management activities for procured activities. This includes engaging and effectively managing service providers eg PTIMS. This includes ensuring contractual obligations are met, undertaking regular contract meetings to discuss all aspects of service delivery related to the contract and, managing reporting and payment processes.

The essential requirements for this role are:
- Demonstrated ability to understand, manage, develop and implement financial policies in a large complex organization, in line with Queensland Health and broader government direction and priorities.
- Proven ability to meet challenging deadlines/timeframes and deliver advice and/or large, complex projects.
- Demonstrated ability to respond constructively to periods of uncertainty by role modelling agility and focussing team purpose.
