Our Purpose:
Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.
The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working for HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?
About the role
The Principal Advisor, Data Strategy and Management leads the development and implementation of HIQ's data strategy and roadmap to support high-quality analysis and reporting of financial and non-financial information across capital projects and programs. Working closely with key stakeholders, you will drive improvements in systems, data architecture and data quality to enhance HIQ's reporting, analytics and evidence-based decision-making capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with non-technical stakeholders across the business to understand, analyse and document business requirements to inform the development of systems and data tools
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and coaching to team members and work closely with team members and management to problem-solve, plan and deliver solutions and requirements within a complex ICT environment.
- Undertake high level statistical analysis and investigate, interpret, and evaluate health related data to support decision making by the organisation.
- Review existing systems for data entry and validation, and where possible, work towards greater automation to reduce manual input.
About you
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership when engaging with internal and external stakeholders and providers.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to respectfully liaise, consult and negotiate with stakeholders while maintaining and nurturing productive working relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in critically reviewing, developing and coordinating enhancements to end-to-end IT solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage the delivery of complex data solutions in a DevOps environment, including Azure QDL, Azura Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks and Power BI Service.
