Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services is seeking an experienced research leader to drive innovation, evaluation and continuous improvement across one of Queensland’s leading public health services. This role offers the opportunity to influence policy, practice and service delivery while strengthening research capability across a multidisciplinary environment.

Your new role:
This senior leadership position will work closely with the MSAMHS Executive Director, Executive Leadership Team, and key research and clinical stakeholders to advance research excellence, evidence translation, and continuous improvement initiatives across the service.
- Lead strategic research, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives that strengthen evidence-based practice across mental health and alcohol and other drug services.
- Build and foster partnerships with universities, funding bodies, and internal stakeholders to grow research capability, grant success, and collaborative innovation.
- Provide expert strategic advice to senior leaders and committees on research translation, service improvement, and contemporary models of care.
About you:
You are a collaborative and influential research professional with a passion for improving health outcomes through innovation, evidence, and strong stakeholder engagement.
- Proven experience leading complex research, evaluation, or continuous improvement programs within healthcare, mental health, or allied health environments.
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage clinicians, executives, universities, funding bodies, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in an eligible health profession, with postgraduate research qualifications and professional registration/membership within Australia.
