Bymount East State School are looking for a knowledgeable, collaborative and enthusiastic curriculum leader to work with a cluster of small schools in implementing the Australian Curriculum with integrity.

You will work across the cluster as Head of Department (Curriculum) on a temporary full-time basis, until the end of 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About the Cluster:

The host school for this cluster is Bymount East State School.

The other schools in the cluster are Arcadia Valley, Dunkeld, Mungallala and Yuleba State Schools.

State and commonwealth funding have established a pilot to trial different approaches to using a HOD-C to support a cluster of small schools. This pilot will run until the end of 2026.

The pilot supports different implementation approaches including virtual support for schools, travelling to schools at different times or a combination of the two.

These will depend on the geographical features of the cluster, the needs of the cluster schools, and the flexibility of the successful applicant.

About the Role:

Successful candidate has to be able to work within the cluster. This position will not be approved for a working remote arrangement. Accommodation maybe available on request.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the relevant curriculum areas or whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
