The Department of Emergency at Mackay Base Hospital has opportunities for Registrars / Principal House Officers to join their team on a Temporary Full-Time basis (76 hrs p.f.)

 Your opportunity

  • A Principal House Officer or Registrar is a medical practitioner in fourth or subsequent year of practical experience after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner.
  • This role is required to participate in the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to hospital clients; and contribute to the continual improvement of medical education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and clients.

About the Emergency Department, Mackay Base Hospital

The Emergency Department has 21 Acute bays that include 2 Resus Bays and 4 High Dependency bays, 12 Consult bays and a 14 bed Short Stay Unit.  The Department is accredited for Specialist Fellowship Training by ACEM, ACRRM Advanced Skills Training (AST), and RACGP Core Generalist Training (CGT).

We are an Adult/Mixed Non-Major Referral Base Emergency Department for Mackay Hospital & Health service and currently Accredited as a Tier 3 Training Site for 12 Months of Training in Emergency Medicine. We also offer foundational, intermediate and Advanced Associateship ACEM Training programs in Emergency Medicine.
