The location
Ayr Health Service is a 28-bed facility located in the township of Ayr, in North Queensland. The Ayr Health Service offers general medical, surgical and obstetric services to Ayr, Home Hill and the broader Burdekin Shire.
Famous for being the sugar capital of Australia, the Burdekin district is located about an hour's drive south of Townsville. Nestled in the delta of the Burdekin River, its two popular townships, Ayr and Home Hill, are linked by the iconic Burdekin Bridge and are surrounded by stunning natural beauty.
About the opportunity
This position provides a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the Burdekin region, whilst providing high-level, evidence based Social Work services and leadership in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics 2020.
Working as a key member within a multidisciplinary clinical environment this position provides a great opportunity to achieve optimum psychosocial outcomes for consumers, families and carers of Ayr and Home Hill Health Services.
This is a temporary part-time role, up to 17/01/2027, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, based in Ayr (North Queensland). PLEASE NOTE - There is a possibility of an extension - not exceeding 2 years.

- Salary range: $64.64 - $69.55 p.h. (HP4)
- 4 weeks (pro rata) annual leave with 17.5% loading

- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
- Possession of a Bachelor of Social Work degree from a recognised tertiary institution and eligibility for accredited membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers are mandatory for this position.
- Accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers as an Accredited Social Worker is highly regarded.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence must be held.
