About the role
To Assist the Allied Health Professionals of the Physiotherapy Department to provide optimal clinical services to patients of Redcliffe Hospital in the areas of Rehabilitation, Acute wards (Medical, Surgical, Intensive Care, Oncology, Orthopaedic Ward), and Outpatients. This position may be required to participate in after hours, weekend or Public Holiday rosters.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Demonstrate a sound level of competency in the provision of direct clinical assistance to the Physiotherapy Department to implement therapy programs and interventions in order to achieve optimal outcomes and patient safety.
- Assist other Allied Health Assistants as required to ensure priority workloads are completed.
- Undertake specified patient care activities which may be performed independently or under supervision as directed by Physiotherapists.
- Obtain relevant patient information, including where appropriate, the administering a defined range of clinical screening assessments, as delegated and allowed by testing guidelines and legislation.
- Provide basic education to patients and families on a defined range of topics.
