Reporting to the General Manager, International Operations you will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the International Operations Directorate.

The Directorate works with the International Markets Unit as a coordinator across TIQ's International Operations Division, made up of 27 overseas locations in 18 markets.

The Directorate consists of the Director, a Manager (which oversees two direct report Advisors), a Principal Advisor and a Business Support Officer. You will manage the team and coordinate the delivery of all significant projects, operations, briefing and correspondence, reporting, advice to Government and policy initiatives, on behalf of the General Manager. You will play a key role in the delivery of the division's objectives in the TIQ Business Plan and contribute to the strategic direction of TIQ and its business outcomes.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Directorate, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities through effective governance, business systems, and operational performance management.
  • Leading and coordinating international operations by acting as a central point between onshore and offshore teams, overseeing governance, policy coordination, corporate planning alignment, and reporting frameworks.
  • Managing complex projects and initiatives on behalf of the General Manager, such as business planning, budgeting oversight, and performance reporting in line with the Business Plan, as well as monitoring international property leases, procurement, and major contract administration.
  • Providing high-level strategic and operational advice on complex trade, investment, and global operating environment issues within the context of Queensland Government trade and investment policies and processes.
  • Contributing to cross-government and inter-agency collaboration, supporting the international network and fostering effective relationships with state, federal, local, and foreign government stakeholders around trade and investment.
  • Overseeing executive insights and briefing from the the international network, including management of briefing, correspondence, reports, and advice provided to senior stakeholders such as the Premier, Ministers, Governor, TIQ Board, and senior management.
  • Representing the organisation externally at forums, negotiations, meetings, and official functions, and leading stakeholder engagement across diverse cultural, public, and private sector environments.
  • Building and sustaining strategic relationships across government, international partners, and internal stakeholders in Queensland and overseas.
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation, identifying solutions to complex issues and enhancing systems, processes, and procedures.
