The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Alcohol and Other Drugs) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Participating in Unit Meetings and Clinical Supervision programs
- Assess Alcohol and Other Drug and mental health risks within an acute environment
- Assessment and management of patients with primary drug or alcohol issues. Obtaining extensive Drug and Alcohol history to determine pattern of use, possible dependence/tolerance to substance and possibility of a withdrawal syndrome
- Communication and exchange of information with other agencies such as Hospital Alcohol and Drug Service (HADS) and other Non Government Organisations (NGO's) relating to client care
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (two positions, 56 and 64 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $57.48 - $61.55 per hour

An opportunity has arisen to join the DABIT (Drug and Alcohol Brief Intervention Team)/AODS (Alcohol and Other Drug Service) Consultation Liaison team as a CN. You will be based between both Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital. We are seeking recruit to this vacant position as soon as possible.
