The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Clinical Facilitator - Geriatric Evaluation and Management and Acute Cognitive Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Ensure ongoing unit-based education and in-service delivery for the unit nursing staff
- Work collaboratively with the Service Line Nurse Educator to maintain a quality service
- Provide advanced clinical advice, education at the expert end of the scope of nursing continuum
- Contribute with developing and supporting nurses in continuous improvement
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $113 979 - $122 048 per annum
About Us
The Geriatric Evaluation and Management and Acute Cognitive Unit (GEM/ACU) unit provides Level 5 services and sits within the Division of Medicine. The unit delivers a total of 22 sub-acute inpatient beds to provide suitable accommodation for the care and treatment of older persons by multidisciplinary teams. The unit consists of 12 GEM beds and 10 ACU beds.
The Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) model provides multidisciplinary, psychogeriatric care with a restorative focus.
The Acute Cognitive Unit (ACU) will focus on the care of older people living with dementia and experiencing Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).
