About the role
Permanent full time or part time opportunity to provide advanced clinical expertise and care for patients presenting following sexual assault. The position involves an advanced level of independent nursing practice, including the provision of sexual assault forensic examinations in the acute care setting.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing/midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in sexual assault forensic examination.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement in relation to sexual assault forensic examinations.
- Provide expert nursing consultation and participate in multidisciplinary decision making inclusive of medical, social work and police to assess and deliver appropriate forensic examinations on sexual assault presentations.
