About the role:
The Advisor will work within the People and Performance team. The People and Performance Team offer expert advisory and case management support across a variety of complex employment matters, from conduct and performance issues to external body complaints. This team develop and maintain central repository of HR resources like template letters and decision maker resources, and they are also the content owners for several statewide HR policies, ensuring they remain current with legislative changes.
As an Advisor, you will work within different areas of the People and Performance team and may be required to provide advice and support to the Hospital and Health Services and Department of Health relating to complex employment matters.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Extract, compile and review data for the quarterly Conduct and Performance (CaPE) reporting to the Public Sector Commission (PSC).
- Collate, provide analysis and report on case management data providing insight and recommendations aligned with Queensland Health's values and strategic direction.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on appropriate management and resolution of complex employment matters.
- Understanding of contemporary human resource management principles, public sector legislation, directives, policies, agreements and relevant employment frameworks that apply to Queensland Health.
- Undertake research and analysis to contribute to the development of advice, policy and strategic documents relating to relevant areas within Queensland Health.

You will be a confident self‑starter who can work independently while accurately interpreting legislative and policy documents. The role requires the ability to collate information and prepare high‑quality reports, supported by highly developed research and analytical skills. Effective consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential, along with strong verbal and written communication capabilities. The successful candidate will be able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
