We are seeking a Principal Management Accountant who will support the financial and strategic budgetary management process for the client group of the role. This role includes the management and reporting of external budgets, participation in forward estimates updates, facilitation of budget submissions, preparation of budget papers, liquidity management, support of strategic projects and financial analysis as required.

As a Principal Management Accountant, you will:
- Provide high level assistance and strategic leadership in the development of the department's annual budget submission to government.
- Provide high level assistance and coordination of the department's budget documentation as part of the annual State government budget process.
- Lead and prepare adjustments as part of the forward estimates process on behalf of the department and maintain records of funding adjustments for use in future briefings and analysis.
- Provide high level advice on fortnightly cash requirements to ensure ongoing liquidity.
- Provide independent and strategic financial analysis, forecasts and analysis of financial performance and financial performance indicators and provide advice regarding budgetary and financial issues.
- Prepare briefing notes and materials for senior officials and as part of the annual estimates process.
- Contribute to internal monthly financial reporting as needed, including preparation of income statements by service stream and strategic review and advice.
- Provide financial reports to Queensland Treasury and other government departments as required.
- Liaise, consult and provide strategic advice and assistance on budget related issues to the Manager, Director, Chief Finance Officer, senior management, Treasury officers and a range of clients across the department.
