As an Engagement Officer for the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, you will play a pivotal role in fostering meaningful connections with communities and stakeholders to drive awareness and action against one of Australia's most significant biosecurity threats. This dynamic role requires a proactive communicator who can independently manage projects, build strong networks, and apply innovative engagement techniques to deliver impactful outcomes. Your ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, resolve conflicts, and tailor communication strategies to diverse audiences will be critical in ensuring the success of the program's engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute Engagement Strategies: Plan and deliver community and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring alignment with the program's objectives.
This includes independently managing tasks, coordinating resources, and overseeing project teams to achieve measurable outcomes. Flexibility to attend outof- hours events is essential.
Build and Strengthen Relationships: Establish, maintain, and enhance internal and external networks to support the implementation of engagement strategies. Use clear and effective communication to manage potential conflicts and foster collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups.
Leverage Data-Driven Insights: Apply audience analytics and stakeholder mapping to tailor engagement techniques, ensuring messages resonate with target audiences. Maintain a deep understanding of stakeholder interests and social responses to biosecurity concerns to inform and refine engagement approaches.
