Peregian Springs State School is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hands-on Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to help maintain our school grounds, facilities, and equipment to a high standard. This diverse role is ideal for someone who enjoys working both indoors and outdoors and takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors. Reporting to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate, you will provide essential support across grounds maintenance, facilities management, school operations, and event preparation. This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 4 days per week, 60 hours per fortnight.

Peregian Springs State School is a vibrant and innovative Prep to Year 6 school located on the northern Sunshine Coast between Coolum and Noosa. About the Role:
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.
You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.
Previous Grounds and Facilities experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Communication with the Principal and Business Manager regarding scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks.
- Attending to repairs and maintenance within the school, including those that relate to furniture and equipment, locks and windows, and other school facilities.
- Undertaking maintenance of school grounds through regular mowing; lawn and garden maintenance including weeding, use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers; plant, water and care of trees, shrubs and gardens; undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, whippersnippers, blowers, gerny's, etc.
- Ensuring compliance with WPS guidelines and procedures, including safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuel.
- Reporting safety hazards.
- Providing emergency cleaning between cleaners' morning and afternoon shifts.
- Work as a team with our Full time Schools Officer.
