Atherton Hospital provides medical, surgical, and maternity services to the town's approximately 8,000 residents. It also offers a wide range of specialist outpatient services and extends its support to rural communities through outreach programs. The dialysis unit is situated in a detached building within Atherton hospital campus.
About your role:
- Performing dialysis on patients with end stage kidney failure using Fresenius 4008 and 5008 machines.
- Accessing permacaths and needling fistulas to prevent complications and facilitate longevity of access.
- Performing ultrasound guided cannulation.
- Working collaboratively with the team to perform adequate machine maintenance and water quality testing to ensure patient safety.
- Performing regular patient blood tests and liaising with the medical team to adjust patient care plans when necessary for optimal treatment.
