About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide nursing care at an advanced scope of clinical practice including expanded skills and knowledge in assessment, care planning and implementation, diagnoses, and evaluation of nursing care for a cohort of consumer/patients in the specialty area of the Emergency and Trauma Centre (ETC), Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH). This role works collaboratively with the interprofessional team and contributes to enhanced consumer/patient outcomes by actively leading and supporting existing and emerging nurse-led models of care whilst maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the health service and consumer populations.
Additionally, this role will be required to provide care to patients presenting to the Metro North Sexual Assault Response Team following a sexual assault, including the provision of forensic examinations as defined by the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Scope of Practice.

- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 8 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
- Demonstrate autonomy, accountability, and competence for expanded practice in providing client-focused care within a nursing model including advanced health assessment of consumer's/patient's clinical condition, development, and implementation of appropriately documented management plan.
- Provide specialist nursing interventions that demonstrate an expanded level of nursing knowledge and skills in the practice area of Emergency and Trauma Centre, and Sexual Assault Examination.
- Provide advanced clinical support and leadership through evidence-based practice and professional development, service planning and delivery, and quality initiatives.
