About us:

The Emergency Department Administration Officer is responsible for providing and maintaining a highly responsive and effective administration support and customer service function, supporting clinical staff to ensure services meet current and future clinical needs, enabling the department to meet service demands and challenges. The Administration Officer shall provide a high level of professional and courteous customer service to patients and family members, whilst maintaining accurate patient records, monitoring workflows relating to patient admissions, transfers and discharges and monitoring own source revenue opportunities.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will….

  • Attend to presenting patients, family members, general public, police and ambulance by providing information and direction to relevant areas.
  • Support Activity Based Funding initiatives and contribute to patient flow initiatives by maintaining the accuracy of all current patient information systems.
  • Consult with patients to obtain correct details for completion of admissions, transfers and discharges by ensuring electronic and manual patient medical records are maintained in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and guidelines.
