The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality medical typing and administrative support services to the Anatomical Pathology and Cytopathology Division, ensuring accurate transcription, efficient workflow management and effective support for statewide pathology services.
What you'll do
In this role you will transcribe medical reports from electronic and handwritten sources, perform patient registration and data entry activities, provide administrative support including correspondence, scanning and records management, assist with the retrieval and tracking of pathology slides and blocks, support clinico-pathological meetings through document preparation and coordination activities, manage workflow and information systems, respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, participate in the Statewide Medical Typing Pool, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives supporting accredited pathology services.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Has experience in medical administration, medical typing or healthcare support roles
- Has strong knowledge of medical terminology and excellent keyboard skills
- Can accurately transcribe and process information within required timeframes
- Has strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Has excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Can work collaboratively within a busy healthcare environment while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
