The purpose of this role is to perform complex and specialised Chemical Pathology testing within the Biochemistry Unit, applying advanced scientific judgement, analytical expertise and clinical interpretation skills to support high-quality statewide diagnostic services.
What you'll do
In this role you will perform and validate complex Chemical Pathology testing, review analytical results alongside clinical and pathology information, provide technical and clinical advice regarding test results and methodologies, investigate and resolve analytical and instrumentation issues, contribute to quality assurance and accreditation activities, participate in workflow management to ensure timely delivery of urgent testing, support service improvement initiatives, supervise and mentor less experienced staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification
- Has experience in Chemical Pathology, Biochemistry or diagnostic laboratory services
- Can apply scientific judgement to the validation and interpretation of complex results
- Has strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Has experience working within quality and accreditation frameworks
- Can communicate effectively with scientific, medical and clinical stakeholders
