Gordonvale State School is committed to achieving quality learning outcomes for all students. Our Prep to Year 6 curriculum is based on the mandated Australian Curriculum Guidelines. The school provides programs for extension of high achieving students, early intervention programs, literacy and reading intervention and special needs support.

About the Role:

As Deputy Principal, you will lead the Engagement Team (including Student Engagement Teacher and Officers) as well manage key portfolios for improvement including PBL / SEL, attendance, collaborative data conversations and community engagement.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Support the Principal in leading the school community to develop and implement a shared educational vision focused on achieving high-quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deputise for the Principal when required, while upholding the role with integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to ethical and values-based leadership.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and socially just school culture by setting high expectations for student achievement, staff performance, and wellbeing.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with parents, community organisations, government agencies, industry, and business to enhance educational opportunities and outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strategic and future-focused leadership through effective resource management, knowledge of relevant legislation and policies, and ongoing professional learning and development.
