Community Recovery is the lead agency for the provision of human and social recovery support to Queenslanders impacted by disasters including the provision of personal financial support, emotional support and recovery activities.
The Long-Term Recovery and Resilience team (LTRR) establishes and manages long-term recovery and resilience programs to support communities affected by disaster events. - referral to support services
- the distribution and coordination of financial assistance through procurement and grants processing
- developing and funding projects in disaster affected communities.
The Program Support Officer provides high-level administrative support to the Long-Term Recovery and Resilience program. It actively contributes to enhancing team workflow, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting program managers, leads and their teams by reducing their administrative load to help achieve program goals.
This role offers a dynamic range of operational administration responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Mailbox management of centralised mailboxes
- Secretariat support to meetings
- Supporting the preparation of documents, correspondence, newsletters, and other communication material
- Supporting the administration of records, recruitment and onboarding processes
- Supporting contract management and procurement systems, reporting and compliance activities
- Contributing to projects and process improvements
The successful candidate will ideally have experience supporting multi-disciplinary program teams and demonstrate exceptional adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment. While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, previous experience in an administrative or executive support role in the public sector will be highly regarded. This role requires a proactive, organised, and solutions-focused individual who can effectively and independently manage competing priorities while contributing to the program's overall success. You will need to have excellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering accurately and timely services.
