Senior Ranger

Rangers protect, manage, and ensure Queensland’s national parks, state forests, and reserves are accessible and valued by all Queenslanders.
The Senior Ranger (Eastern Downs) leads a team of 13 to manage 46 estates covering 289,866 ha. Girraween National Park, with significant infrastructure, is a regional priority, while managing State Forests near Inglewood supports the cypress pine timber industry.
The role oversees park management programs, prepares correspondence (e.g., briefing notes), reports on programs and budgets, and manages contracts. Strong communication and team leadership skills are essential, along with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including First Nations groups, to ensure the successful delivery of operational programs.

- Communicates clearly and effectively, tailoring messaging to suit audiences and managing stakeholder expectations.
- Demonstrates sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, compliance, emergency response, and business management processes (HR, financial and reporting).
- Supports and promotes a culture of safety, equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
