About Us:

The Manager, Intensive Education Case Management (IECM) leads and oversees a specialised regional team that supports schools, students, and families experiencing significant and complex barriers to educational engagement.

The IECM team works with young people who have been excluded, are at risk of exclusion, or are disengaged from education, including those involved with Child Safety or Youth Justice, experiencing trauma, or presenting with high-risk behaviours.

About the Role:

IECMs play a critical role in coordinating multi-agency responses, working collaboratively with schools and external services to develop and implement tailored strategies, manage risk, strengthen family engagement, and improve educational outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

The Manager provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, professional supervision, and high-level support in relation to highly complex and sensitive cases.

This includes guiding the team through competing priorities and ensuring consistent, high-quality, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practice.

This role requires exceptional communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive and often challenging issues between families, schools, and a range of external stakeholders.

The successful applicant will be a resilient and strategic leader who can think creatively and outside the box to develop practical solutions to complex situations, while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture within a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment.

Additionally, your strong stakeholder engagement skills will ensure the development and maintenance of productive relationships with families, schools, and partner organisations.

You will also bring experience in operational oversight, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with policies, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, manage and develop staff to deliver evidence-based, innovative and effective case management support, governance and reporting activities, project management, and engagement initiatives in relation to intensive education case management.
  • Lead and oversee the management of recruitment and selection, workforce planning, training and performance of staff to build capacity and ensure a high level of case management service delivery in line with departmental requirements
  • Strategically manage and triage regional education case management caseloads and coordinate, analyse, develop, monitor and review regional case management governance and planning activities to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, legislation and policy, and adherence to stipulated timeframes by utilising individual and team capabilities.

Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities.
