Within TMR, E&T provides specialist technical leadership supporting the operation, reliability, and future readiness of Queensland's transport networks. We are seeking two exceptional leaders to join the Structures unit as:
Director (Structures Planning and Delivery)
This role provides vision, leadership, and strategic direction to the Planning and Delivery Directorate. You will oversee the planning, design, and construction of structural assets on the state road network, delivering best-practice engineering advice and technical services to manage risk and enable efficient project delivery in a cost-constrained environment. You will work collaboratively with other directorates to provide integrated and holistic engineering advice, focusing on structural design, construction, and project delivery.
Director (Structures Operations Management)
This role provides leadership and strategic direction to the Operations Management Directorate. You will oversee the delivery of professional engineering advice, design and construction services, and project reviews for structural engineering projects. You will collaborate with Districts and Regions to support major rehabilitation and replacement programs, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and innovation in structural asset management.
Both roles require strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex engineering projects. You will provide expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives and government representatives, and contribute to the delivery of TMR's vision of "Connected communities in a sustainable, thriving, and inclusive Queensland."
You will:
- Providing strategic leadership and direction to the respective directorates.
- Overseeing the delivery of high-quality engineering advice and services.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver infrastructure projects.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Managing safety, risk, and compliance in all aspects of structural asset management.
About You
We are seeking accomplished and visionary leaders with extensive experience in structural or civil engineering, particularly in the planning, design, construction, and management of large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal candidates will possess exceptional strategic leadership skills, a proven ability to manage complex engineering challenges, and a commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and safe infrastructure solutions. To thrive in these roles, you will need to demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, provide expert technical advice, and lead high-performing teams in a dynamic and complex environment
You will possess:
- A Washington Accord-accredited four-year degree in Engineering (Structural or Civil) or an equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) in the discipline area of Structural Engineering.
- Due to the sensitive nature of these roles, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment.
- You will join a respected leadership team operating at the forefront of transport innovation, operational resilience, and infrastructure safety.
