About the Team
The Forensic Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a specialist Program within the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service and is also part of the broader Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service. Forensic CYMHS provides assessment and treatment services to young people with mental health issues and significant behavioural disturbance that have resulted/or place them at elevated risk of involvement with the criminal justice system. The goals of the Forensic Program are to promote recovery in children and young people with mental health needs and offending behaviours, increase community safety and reduce the risk of offending. Our vision is to provide high quality clinical care and reduce service inequity to child and youth forensic mental health consumers across Queensland.
About the Role
The position of Team Leader, Forensic Child and Youth Mental Health Service will:
- Be accountable for operational managerial aspects and leadership of the multi-disciplinary child and youth mental health team.
- Demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and skills to ensure effective service delivery within the speciality area of the CYMHS unit.
- Provide expert clinical and operational leadership, strategic direction and management to a multi-disciplinary child and youth mental health team in the provision of forensic mental health services to young people who are involved with the justice system, with severe and complex mental health and substance use disorders.
