Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse within the Anaesthetic Care Unit, you will provide advanced clinical care and leadership to patients with complex peri-anaesthetic needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate care delivery, support staff development, contribute to quality improvement initiatives and play a key role in ensuring safe, high-quality patient outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership, education and service improvement activities.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver advanced peri-anaesthetic nursing care to complex patients
- Coordinate and lead clinical care within a fast-paced specialist environment
- Provide clinical leadership, support and guidance to nursing staff
- Manage patient assessment, care planning and evaluation activities
- Contribute to quality improvement, audits and patient safety initiatives
- Support workforce development through education, mentoring and clinical facilitation

You are an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced anaesthetic nursing knowledge and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. You are a confident clinical leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to professional excellence, continuous improvement and supporting the development of others.
You will bring:
- Advanced clinical experience in anaesthetic nursing practice
- Strong assessment, clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex patient care requirements
- Experience leading, mentoring and supporting nursing teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to person-centred, evidence-based care
- Knowledge of quality improvement, risk management and patient safety principles

About us:
The Anaesthetic Care Unit provides anaesthetic nursing care in the Princess Alexandra Hospital's 21 operating theatres and areas other than theatre, including the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Endoscopy Suite and Radiology Departments. We are a tertiary referral centre, our client base includes liver transplant patients, cardio-thoracic, spinal, major trauma and those at high anaesthetic or surgical risk. The Anaesthetic Care Unit provides a 7 day per week, 24 hours per day service.
