As the Executive Director, Statewide Initiatives, Schools and Regional Operations and Performance, you will:
- Lead implementation of system-wide initiatives to remove barriers, foster collaboration, and deliver impactful, place-based solutions in schools and early childhood settings, with a focus on achieving outcomes for all students.
- Drive reform for students with disability, including implementing key elements of the department's response to the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability. This includes operationalising improved service delivery models, supporting schools to meet the needs of students with disability, and addressing systemic barriers to access and participation.
- Support rural and remote communities by ensuring the delivery of place-based solutions and innovative approaches to address challenges in these areas, improving access to education and ensuring equitable opportunities for students.
- Oversee statewide implementation of initiatives across all eight regions, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities while tailoring solutions to meet regional needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regional teams, non-state sectors, Commonwealth agencies, and community partners, to strengthen student transitions and access to education, particularly in rural and remote First Nations communities.
- Oversee transformational and cultural change to enhance the department's service delivery to Queensland's state school students and families.
- Represent the department and the Queensland Government in formal and informal settings to promote and secure support for the delivery of Brighter Futures: Delivering excellence in every state school, for every student objectives.
To excel in this role, you will be a dynamic and experienced leader with a proven track record of success in strategy, policy implementation, and service delivery within a large and complex organisation.
You will bring:
- A deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing Queensland's diverse communities and students.
- Outstanding leadership and management capabilities, with the ability to drive implementation of significant reforms and initiatives in challenging environments.
- Extensive experience in fostering collaboration across diverse stakeholders to deliver innovative and impactful solutions.
- Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and governance skills, with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes.
