Your new opportunity

Join Queensland Treasury in a pivotal advisory role supporting the Deputy Under Treasurer and senior executives to deliver the Queensland Budget and provide high quality analysis and advice on complex economic, fiscal and policy issues. You will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, contributing to whole-of-government decision-making and influencing strategic outcomes that support Queensland's economic priorities.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic advice to senior executives on whole-of-government expenditure, financial performance and policy matters
  • Identify and manage risks and contribute to the development of financial strategies and policies
  • Lead the development of processes and products to monitor and analyse agency budget and financial information
  • Coordinate agency requirements and exercise sound judgement to manage competing priorities
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and negotiate positive outcomes on complex issues
  • Represent Treasury on committees and working groups and support executive briefings
  • Prepare high-quality reports, submissions and briefing materials within tight timeframes
  • Contribute to organisational strategy, direction and continuous improvement initiatives

What experience you will bring:

  • Experience analysing and interpreting financial and non-financial performance information or developing government policy
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to provide strategic, practical and solutions-focused advice
  • Influential communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative working relationships
  • Sound judgement and the ability to consider multiple perspectives when developing solutions

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
