Role details
The Innovation and Redesign team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Project Facilitator to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
- To facilitate health system improvements through fundamental rethinking and redesign of core processes using well proven project and implementation science methodologies.
- Lead innovation and redesign activities/workshops and support ongoing projects by transferring knowledge to the staff at all levels of MHHS.
- To promote the systematic uptake of clinical research findings and other evidence-based practices into routine practice, to improve the quality (effectiveness, reliability, safety, appropriateness, equity, efficiency) of health care at the Mackay HHS.
- To support the promotion, understanding and capability development in project and implementation science methodologies, whilst engaging key clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in order to generate complex systems change within the Mackay HHS.
About the Team
MIRI is an emerging health service-led translational research and innovation centre; a collaboration between Mackay Hospital and Health Service (HHS) and James Cook University (JCU)/ Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine (AITHM).
The core functions of the Institute are:
- leading cutting edge translational research and innovation
- implementing evidence based practice into patient care
- implementing innovations that improve productivity and safety
- supporting clinicians to undertake in research in areas of strategic interest
- leading the Tropical North in Occupational Health and Safety Research
- supporting the development of the Tropical Australian Academic Health Centre
