The National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) is seeking an experienced Principal Program Advisor to join the Office of the General Manager and play a key
role in supporting one of Queensland's most significant biosecurity initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of a high-profile national program, providing trusted advice, coordinating complex projects, and influencing decisions that protect Queensland's communities, environment and economy.
What You'll Be Doing
As a strategic advisor to the Office of the General Manager, you'll work across a diverse range of business areas to:
• Prepare high-level briefs, submissions, correspondence, and executive advice.
• Coordinate information from specialists across legal, communications, science, governance, and compliance teams.
• Research, analyse and respond to emerging issues, risks, and operational challenges.
• Support the delivery of strategic projects and initiatives across the program.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes.
• Help senior leaders navigate complex issues and deliver program priorities.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can confidently operate in a dynamic environment and bring:
• Outstanding written communication and briefing skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
• Experience preparing executive, ministerial or government correspondence.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working within government, policy, program delivery, or complex operational environments.

Salary
AO7 Classification
$133,603 - $143,125 per annum + superannuation and leave entitlements.
