Intelligence Specialist

This Intelligence Specialist is responsible for identifying, researching, analysing and developing strategic intelligence to advance target development operations within the only Queensland Police Service (QPS) led serious and organised crime target development capability. The position is part of a multi-agency, multi-disciplinary team, that develops high-level targeting opportunities for the QPS, and state-wide governance of major operations.

Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Provide direction and assist in driving the QPS Strategic Plan through the provision of intelligence services to Commands and Regions in the assessment of problem places, cases and issues.
• Provide high level analytical advice and support to QPS officers in relation to targeting strategies.
• Plan and prepare complex intelligence assessments in relation to crime and other community safety matters utilising accepted intelligence processes.
• Establish and maintain effective networks within the QPS and with external partners and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement effective work practices with a focus on continuous improvement.
• May be required to provide supervision and direction to other staff members.
Role Requirements
• The successful applicant/s will be required to perform duty within any business location where intelligence capability is required.
• The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment.
• Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature.
• Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimum level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
• Shift work may be a requirement of this role, including afternoons, weekends and nights.
• The successful applicant/s may be required to undertake intelligence training delivered by the Queensland Police Service in line with current policy.
