Imagine helping individuals and families find safe, sustainable housing while leading a team that's passionate about making a difference. As a Senior Housing Officer with Housing and Homelessness Services, you'll play a vital role in delivering housing solutions that directly support Queenslanders in need.
In this leadership role, you'll manage complex social housing and housing assistance services, supervise a team of Housing Officers and work directly with customers in person, over the phone and in the community. From conducting tenancy reviews and resolving complaints to representing the department in appeals and at the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, your work will be diverse, challenging and rewarding.
Fieldwork is a regular part of this role, requiring you to meet customers in their homes and adapt to changing conditions. You'll need to be vigilant, proactive and skilled at managing risk. Regional roles may also involve occasional overnight travel, giving you the opportunity to connect with diverse communities across Queensland.
As a Senior Housing Officer, you'll guide and support your team, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to deliver exceptional service. You'll also foster a culture of workplace safety, professionalism, and inclusivity, modelling ethical and culturally sensitive behaviour in everything you do.
