The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a new 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.

The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.

About the Role

As Contracts Manager with Cross River Rail, you will play a key client-side role in the commercial delivery of one of Queensland's most significant infrastructure projects. Our current vacancy will support the largest contract within the program the Tunnel, Stations and Development (TSD) Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and involves working within the unique commercial and contractual framework of a PPP delivery model.

You will provide contract management support, assist in resolving commercial issues, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. You will work closely with internal project delivery teams and contracting PPP partners to achieve best-for-project outcomes within the structure of the TSD contract. This is an opportunity to contribute to a city-shaping initiative while leveraging your expertise in contract management and commercial strategy.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this position will be offered as a fixed term contract until September 2028 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide contract management advice to the Project Delivery team and stakeholders in relation to commercial issues and implications.
  • Assist with scope variation negotiations with contractors and stakeholders to ensure high performance and innovation.
  • Draft and manage contract correspondence and documentation in line with governance requirements.
  • Oversee minor contract disputes, ensuring timely and favourable resolutions.
  • Prepare reports and briefing materials for senior management on commercial matters.
  • Work with SME's to understand and support the resolution of project technical issues and their commercial implications.
  • Manage or assist in the management and resolution of contractual disputes.

About You:

  • 5+ years of experience in contract management and administration, ideally in large infrastructure or complex construction projects.
  • Strong ability to manage contractual investigations and provide insights for commercial decision-making.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience in government or tier 1 contractor environments preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
  • Experience working within PPP frameworks or other complex long-term commercial delivery models is highly regarded.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in fields such as Quantity Surveying, Business, Engineering, Law, or Construction Management are highly regarded.
