Role details
The Health Information Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Director to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
The Director, Health Information Services leads the strategic and operational planning of the Health Information Service, including the execution of departmental strategies and plans to enhance the service in accordance with Mackay Hospital and Health Service' (MHHS) values and strategic plan.
This position will manage and accept responsibility for the effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of the provision of health information services for MHHS including clinical records management, clinical data management, clinical coding, Privacy and Right to Information.

Health Information Services (HIS) delivers specialised services that support the Mackay Hospital and Health Service's commitment to the effective management and provision of high-quality patient information.
The service encompasses several key functional areas, including Health Information Management, Clinical Coding, Data Quality, Information Access, Scanning, & Medical Typing. HIS operates under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
