What your day could look like

As a Clinical Nurse in Child and Family Health, you'll play a vital role in supporting children and families to thrive in their communities. From delivering holistic health assessments to building trusted relationships with families, you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes and create lasting impact.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Delivering tailored assessments and care plans that support children's health, development, and wellbeing
  • Partnering with families and carers to build confidence, address challenges, and strengthen outcomes at home
  • Collaborating across teams and services to coordinate care and ensure continuity of support
  • Leading health promotion and education initiatives that empower communities and encourage early intervention

Let's Talk About You

You're a compassionate and capable nurse who thrives on making a genuine difference in people's lives. You bring curiosity, sound judgement, and a natural ability to build trust, particularly with children and families navigating complex needs. You take pride in delivering care that is thoughtful, evidence-based, and genuinely centred on the people you support.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant postgraduate qualification in child and family health
  • Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and case management skills in a community or primary health setting
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, making confident clinical decisions
  • A proactive approach to continuous learning, quality improvement, and team contribution

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience delivering care in community or regional settings and/or additional training such as immunisation qualifications.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health—compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation, and courage—into every interaction, helping to build healthier futures for children and families.

In this role, your care and leadership will help shape stronger families and healthier communities across the region.
