About the role
As Principal Analyst - Clinical Costing, you will take a lead role in shaping how clinical cost data is captured, interpreted, and used across Metro North Health. This position is central to ensuring that costing information is not only accurate and timely, but also meaningful and actionable for clinical and operational leaders. You will work across complex data environments to strengthen costing methodologies, enhance system performance, and uncover insights that drive better resource allocation and service delivery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Present data to allow clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure the cost of patient care is correctly captured.
- Identify activity provided by the service which is not being counted.
- Oversee the end-to-end costing process, updating how the service provision costs are captured, methodologies, structures and quality assurance processes.
- Provide analysis on current clinical costing practices, as well as develop modelling for potential improvements, with a view to assist managers and clinicians to identify service improvements and efficiencies.
- Use integrated computer systems to develop and present information, including trend, future state and modelling analysis that is clear and concise, to influence decision making both verbally and in written form.
