This is an exciting temporary opportunity for an experienced nurse with a passion for gastroenterology and person-centred care. You will work collaboratively with Consultant Gastroenterologists, Physicians, Colorectal Surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality clinical care, drive service improvements, support education and research activities, and influence best practice outcomes for patients across the care continuum!

About your role

As the Clinical Nurse Consultant – IBD, you will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership in the specialty area of Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. 

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver advanced specialist nursing care to patients with inflammatory bowel disease
  • Provide expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers and healthcare professionals
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care across the patient journey
  • Support the growth and development of the Gastroenterology and biologic therapy service
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans
  • Lead and support quality improvement, clinical redesign and service development initiatives

About you

You are an experienced and passionate nurse with advanced clinical knowledge in gastroenterology and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centred care. 

You will demonstrate:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease nursing
  • Strong clinical assessment, care planning and complex problem-solving skills
  • Experience providing specialist advice and coordinating multidisciplinary care
  • Excellent communication, consultation and relationship-building skills
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty area, or progress towards one (highly regarded)

Redlands Satellite Health Centre, Talwalpin Milbul:

  • The satellite health centre is also known as Talwalpin Milbul, a name chosen by the Redlands Coast community and local Traditional Owners and Elders. It means ‘Redland Bay alive/active' in Jandai language.
  • The satellite health centre treats minor illnesses and injuries that aren't life-threatening, and we also have diagnostic services for patients having treatment, including ultrasound, X-ray and pathology.
