The role:

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) within the Nursing and Midwifery Staffing Team (NMST) provides flexible clinical support which is allocated on a shift-by-shift basis acoss clinial areas within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. NMST ENs work across a 24/7 roster covering all shift types.

NMST ENs are supported through a collaborative model involving Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Services Clinical Nurses and local unit clinical leads.

These are Permanent full-time or part-time positions, multiple positions available - hours negotiable.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent certification is a mandatory qualification for this position.
  • Shift Availability: This casual position offers opportunities to work across a variety of shift types. Casual staff may indicate their availability and preferred shift patterns, with shifts allocated in line with the operational requirements and service needs.
  • Highly Desirable: Demonstrated ability to providedirect patient care within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice, with recent clinical experience/practice within the past 12-24 months.

  • Salary range: $2882.60 - $3059.30 p.f. (NG3)
  • Salary range: $37.92 - $40.25 p.h. (NG3)
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Contribute to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred nursing care under the delegation of the registered nurse/midwife.
  • Work as an effective member within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
  • Use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
  • Own ongoing professional development.
